About the name "Mink Top"
The name of the site is called Mink Top after this little guy. After a VERY long hike through mud and snow and rain, walking through rivers, climbing, sleeping in weird net hammocks in the freezing cold. We find him. Waiting at the top asking to share some of our peanut butter sandwiches.
While there are mink throughout New York State they normally occupy areas near wetland habitats, streams, rivers, lakes, etc. I definitely would not consider the very top of the tallest mountain in New York to be a wetland, however there water sources down the mountain not too far on either side.
